Green Onion & Garlic Crispy Tofu- this is SO easy to make, VEGAN, VEGETARIAN, and a great meat substitute for any dish!

Itโ€™s Friday and itโ€™s sunny and the days seem to be getting longer and I love it all! Iโ€™m one of those people thatโ€™s drastically affected by the weather (hence why I open every other blog post with an intense paragraph about the status of the weather).

Last night we went to a hockey game with 180 other people from Stephenโ€™s work. We had a great time and yet not ONCE actually went to our seats. We literally didnโ€™t watch a minute of the game. It was awesome :) And, our team won so all around a good night. Iโ€™ve always loved the idea of sports but have never been one to really get into the actual game.

Letโ€™s jump right into this Green Onion & Garlic Crispy Tofu, shall we? Iโ€™m a HUGE fan and thatโ€™s coming from a girl who didnโ€™t know what tofu was until I got to college (same goes for sushi).

When I last made this tofu, I ended up just snacking on it. Like, eating tofu piece after piece with my fingers. However, itโ€™s also great as a meat alternative to pretty much any dish. Donโ€™t worry, Iโ€™ll be sharing a recipe with yโ€™all soon :D

Itโ€™s also VERY easy to make.

The tofu is cut into small, bite sized pieces and placed on a lined baking tray.

When the tofu is nearly done baking, a simple sauce of oil, garlic, and soy sauce is made and the tofu is tossed in.

Now just top it with a bit of the green onion and sesame seeds and youโ€™re good to go! Easy, right??

Nice recipe but I think thereโ€™s a typo at the end where you suggest sesame oil for the topping โ€“ I reckon you mean sesame seedsโ€ฆ.

  2. Rachel Brown says:

I tried this and the tofu stuck to the pan really badly

    1. Brita says:

So sorry to hear that! I make it this way quite often and the pan can definitely change things. If itโ€™s sticking at all, I usually just add a little more oil

  3. CA says:

Your ingredients list sesame oil and chopped green onion for the topping, but instructions say to top with sesame seeds and green onion?

This looks so delicious! Iโ€™ve been loving tofu lately and Iโ€™m excited to have another recipe to try with it!
